Let me introduce myself. I am married to Raymond J. Bell of Charlottesville, Va. He attended Jackson P. Burley School in the 1950's. We came to the renunion in 2006. Unfortunatey we could not make it this year. I printed some of the pictures so that Raymond can see them. Especially the one with this brother Philip Bell and his friends, Richard Monroe and Kanuso and his brother-in law Linwood Frye. Raymond was part of the 1956 Burley Bears football team that did not get scored on for that whole year. All of the pictures are great. Is there anyway i could get a copy of all of the pictures?

When my children were enrolled at Venable School, every Spring brought field day and all of the events and competitions of the student body. My most vivid memories are of the parents in the bleachers and on the sidelines reminiscing about the athletic feats and amazing records set by the Mighty Burley Bears. You could sense the great pride and comraderie of those parents and it was crystal clear that the Burley experience had been a life defining one. It is of great importance to this community that these treasured accomplishments be remembered and celebrated. My best to the members of the Varsity Club. Keep those memories alive!
With high regard
